Affiliated to the University of Calicut and approved by AICTE, the two year MBA programme at MIIMS is a highly valued course with several options in specializations. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme in MIIMS is a two year, four semester post graduate degree course. In addition to the course curriculum prescribed by the University of Calicut, MIIMS provides ample opportunities and facilities to the students for value addition through a series of personal development programmes and also by synergizing academic rigor with business relevance with a unique design of electives in their areas of interest and aptitude. Specialization MIIMS provides specializations in three different management domains such as Marketing Management, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Pedagogy and Andragogy At MIIMS, we try to strike a balance between pedagogic and androgogy approaches including mentoring and simulations. Students are not regarded as reactive organisms, but inherently as active ones with potential forces bubbling. We realize that the purpose of the education is not merely transmission of knowledge alone, but also acquisition of skills for imparting the same into practice through continual development. A strong core programme is designed to provide a holistic, integrated experience to note the students through academics and simultaneously exposing them to the real world of activities. State of the art technologies is made available to the students in teaching/learning process to attain global standards. The great aim of education is not knowledge, but action in this post globalization era. Timelines of the MBA Program The MBA programme shall have four semesters. Each semester shall consist of 16 weeks. Instruction and University examinations in each course in a semester shall be completed within 90 working days in a semester. A Day at MIIMS MIIMS starts functioning from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. The day begins with a prayer song and thought of the day followed by regular academic sessions until lunch break. The afternoon sessions include academic as well as personality development trainings, leadership training etc. which includes programmes like public speaking, extempore speech, group discussions, case analysis, mock press, storytelling, role playing, economic trend analysis, presentations, debate etc. shall be conducted. The library is open from 9 :30 am to 4:30 pm every day. 360 degree Comprehensive Internal Assessments (CIA) 3600 CIA is a regular practice in MIIMS, where students are evaluated based on their class participation, presentation, assignments, group activities, project work, written tests, viva-voce etc. Periodical feedback of a student is collected from batch coordinators, mentors, trainers, and parents for a precise evaluation of each student. Evaluation marks are sent to the parents wherein the attendance and progress of the students are also indicated as per internal assessments. On the basis of this evaluation, a feedback is provided to the student as well as all concerned for appropriate corrective mechanisms if any. This helps the students to involve in their academic as well as extracurricular activities to the full extend and to race across hurdles to achieve their goals. Co curricular Activities Equal importance is given to academic and personal development programmes of each student in MIIMS. Apart from the college management fest, arts and sports day and other religious and non- religious celebrations, the students of MIIMS are organizing regular quiz programmes, news reviews, public speaking, debates, book reviews, psychometric tests etc. Students are given vital roles in event management activities and preparation of study materials on different topics with the help of internet, reference books, journals, and e-learning methods. Talent Expressions MIIMS believes in the overall development of its students through creativity out of the box thinking. Cultural activities are often organized by students. ’Onam’ is celebrated with pomp and joy in MIIMS in the traditional Kerala style, to receive ‘Mahabali’ with floral carpets, feast and ‘kaikottikkali’; all managed by the students of first and second batches. Talents in music, dance and other performing arts are also honed by monthly programmes and regular participation in inter collegiate competitions. Sports & Games Students are encouraged to take active participation in sports and games to develop a healthy body with sound mind. Well maintained football, cricket, and badminton courts are available to the students for this purpose. They show their talent in college and inter collegiate tournaments.
